A 36-year-old Bergen County man has been jailed on accusations he sexually assaulted a child, authorities said. An investigation into Vincenzo Carbone, of Hasbrouck Heights, was launched on Wednesday, June 5, after the Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding prior instances of sexual abuse, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A would-be George Washington Bridge jumper was hospitalized Tuesday night, Sept. 24, after bringing traffic along the bridge to a halt, authorities said. A spokesperson for the Port Authority Police Department confirmed the investigation but not have any further information as of 7:40 p.m. Wednesday morning, a spokesperson said that the incident was reported at 5:42 p.m. near the 179th Street ramp in the westbound lanes.
